Do we need to go to
church?
(Lev 23:3 NIV) "'There are six days when you may work,
but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You
are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD.
(Lev 23:3 KJV) Six days shall work be done: but the seventh
day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work
therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
(Heb 10:23-25 NIV) Let us
hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. {24}
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
{25} Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day
approaching.
(Heb 10:23-25 KJV) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith
without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) {24} And let us consider
one another to provoke unto love and to good works: {25} Not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Has anyone gone to
heaven?
(John 3:13 KJV) And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but
he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
(John 3:13 NIV) No one has ever gone into heaven except the
one who came from heaven--the Son of Man.
What happens when
you die?
(Eccl 9:4-5 NIV) Anyone who is among the living has hope --even
a live dog is better off than a dead lion! {5} For the living know that
they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.
(Eccl 9:4-5 KJV) For to him that is joined to all the living
there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. {5} For the
living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing,
neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
(1 Th 4:16-18 NIV) For the Lord himself will come down from
heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the
trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. {17} After
that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord
forever. {18} Therefore encourage each other with these words.
(1 Th 4:16-18 KJV) For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: {17} Then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. {18} Wherefore
comfort one another with these words.
Did angels marry
women?
(Gen 6:1-8 NIV) When men began to increase in number on the
earth and daughters were born to them, {2} the sons of God saw that the
daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.
{3} Then the LORD said,
"My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal ;
his days will be a hundred and twenty years." {4} The Nephilim were
on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God
went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of
old, men of renown. {5} The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth
had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only
evil all the time. {6} The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth,
and his heart was filled with pain. {7} So the LORD said, "I will wipe
mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and
creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air--for I am grieved
that I have made them." {8} But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
(Gen 6:1-8 KJV) And it came to pass, when men began to
multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, {2} That
the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took
them wives of all which they chose. {3} And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with
man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and
twenty years. {4} There were giants in the earth in those days; and also
after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they
bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of
renown. {5} And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and
that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
{6} And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved
him at his heart. {7} And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created
from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and
the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. {8} But Noah
found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
From Holman’s Bible Dictionary
NEPHILIM (Nehf' ih lihm)
Transliteration of Hebrew word related to verb, "to fall," and
often interpreted as "aborted ones." KJV translates as
"giants," following the earliest Greek and standard Latin
translation. Nephilim were on the earth both before and after the sons of God
married the daughters of men (Gen. 6:4). The existence of Nephilim joined
with marriages not sanctioned by God set the tone for God's condemnation of
human wickedness, preparing for the flood. In Numbers 13:33 the spies Moses
sent to investigate Cannan, feared the Nephilim, who appear to have been of
large stature; hence interpreters have labeled them as giants. Another Hebrew
term (raphah) is translated giants more often.
About angels. They are immortal beings that have no need to reproduce.
(Luke 20:35-36 NIV) But those who are considered worthy
of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither
marry nor be given in marriage, {36} and they can no longer die; for they
are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of
the resurrection.
About sons of God. They are not angels.
(Mat 5:9 NIV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will
be called sons
of God.
(Rom 8:13-14 NIV) For if you live according to the sinful
nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the
body, you will live, {14} because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
(Rom 8:19 NIV) The creation waits in eager expectation for
the sons
of God to be revealed.
(Gal 3:26-27 NIV) You are all sons of God through faith in
Christ Jesus, {27} for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves
with Christ.
(Heb 1:5-6 NIV) For to which of the angels did God ever
say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father " ? Or
again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"? {6} And
again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let
all God's angels worship him."
(John 3:16 NIV) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life.
