I Can Because He Can

(Job 38 through 42:2) God is questioning Job

{4} "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand.

{5} Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!

Who stretched a measuring line across it?

{6} On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone

Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?

{33} Do you know the laws of the heavens?

{27} Does the eagle soar at your command and build his nest on high?

{Job 42:1-2} Then Job replied to the LORD: {2} "I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.

Say but the word and my soul (Servant) shall be healed

(Gen 1:3 NIV) And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

(Gen 1:6 NIV) And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."

(Gen 1:9 NIV) And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.

(Gen 1:11 NIV) Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so.

Not so big things I can’t do

Always remember where I put something.

Remember to have the newspaper stopped when I will be gone a few days.

Write without spelling, grammar and typographical errors.

Big things I can’t do

Move faster than the speed of light.

Understand all languages.

Know the hidden thoughts of another man.

Bring about world peace.

Resolve the problems of poverty and starvation.

Always be right.

Understand the mysteries of the past

Understand the mysteries of the universe

Imagine either a universe without an end or a universe with an end.

(Eccl 3:11 NIV) He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Important things I can’t do

Mind my own business.

Keep my temper under control.

Keep my tongue under control.

Love my enemy.

Love my neighbor as myself.

Consistently make good choices.

What God can do

(Mark 10:27 NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

(Luke 18:27 NIV) Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."

What I can do with God

(Mark 9:19-23 NIV) "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me." {20} So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. {21} Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. {22} "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." {23} "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."

(Phil 4:12-13 NIV) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. {13} I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

(Mat 17:18-20 NIV) Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment. {19} Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" {20} He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

(John 14:12-14 NIV) I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. {13} And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. {14} You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Important day to day things I can do with God’s help

Mind my own business.

Keep my temper under control.

Keep my tongue under control.

Love my neighbor as myself.

Consistently make good choices.

Stop worrying

Overcome sorrow

Cast out doubt

Quit gossiping

Learn not to fear anything, except God

Replace bad habits with good habits

Refrain from courting temptation

These are attacks of the flesh and of Satan

(Rom 8:31 NIV) What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Next time you find yourself saying or thinking, “I can’t” stop and remember this, “I can because He can.”

Then get down on your knees and let Him, God, help you up!
