Things They Say I Shouldn’t Say

1. Jesus is the only way to salvation.

(John 14:6 NIV) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

2. Homosexuality is a perversion and a sin.

(Lev 18:22 NIV) "'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

3. Homosexuals should not be allowed in the military.

(Lev 20:13 NIV) "'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

4. America was founded by Christians, for Christians, and on Christian principals.

5. Abortion is murder.

(Jer 1:5 NIV) "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

(Mat 1:18 NIV) This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

6. You’re a sinner. You deserve to die.

(Rom 3:23 KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(Rom 6:23 NIV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

7. God is the final authority on ….

(Mark 10:27 NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

(Gen 14:22 NIV) But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, and have taken an oath

8. Evolution is a misguided theory.

(Gen 1:31 NIV) God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.

9. Christians should be preferred as leaders in every area, politics, education, business, etc.

(Rom 12:10 KJV) Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

(Titus 2:11-12 RSV) For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men, {12} training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world,

10. If a man can work but doesn’t he shouldn’t be fed.

(2 Th 3:10 NIV) For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

11. God comes before government and government should be Godly.

(Acts 5:28-29 NIV) "We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name," he said. "Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man's blood." {29} Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men!

12. A woman’s most important job is motherhood.

(Mat 1:23 NIV) "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us."

13. We need more prayer in school and other public places.

14. There is not requirement for separation of Church and State in the Constitution.

Amendment I - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Much of the world would like us to just, “Shut up.” But we were told not to shut up but to pray at all times and to proclaim the good news to everyone. So again I remind you of what Peter taught us.

The world wants us to shut up. I cannot! I hope you will agree with me and not be silenced.
